Taking in the opera
Attending the Opera Bastille in Paris
Much as I love old-time, ornate theaters of the 16th to 19th centuries, this gleaming modern mound of metal and glass in a trendy district of Paris is simply fantastic. And, since the Opera National de Paris decamped here, the space also hosts some of the best Hefty People Shrieking Melodically About Death shows in all of la belle France.
