Parc de Bercy
A park of themes in Paris, France
This 35-acre park by the Seine lies in one of the latest of Paris's redeveloping neighborhoods, on the right bank just southwest of the city center.
Bercy Park features themed gardens—aromatic, roses, orchards, a "philosophers' garden" around a little lake and, of course, a jardin romantique (it wouldn't be Paris if there weren't a "Romantic Garden")—all set amid abandoned wine warehouses where wine barrels from Burgundy were once offloaded from the Seine.
Tips
- Planning your time: Gardens are for relaxing and contemplating. If you're just strolling through, give it at least 30–45 minutes.
