Every Thursday afternoon for the past eight years, Martin has played bridge with the same women. On the first day she was to host the club in her new room, bad weather kept the group away. Instead, Martin invited other women from the Manor. After a cheesecake dessert and three hours of bridge, the game ended, the women returned to their rooms, and Martin began to straighten up.
