Slovenia

Pr'Skelet, Ljubljana, Slovenia
Ljubljana has some odd festivals, and one of the weirdest has to be the Pekovska sodba (Trial of the Baker), in which a caged man is lowered from a bridge into the Lubljanica River and ceremonially dunked three times, recreating some poorly-recalled incident involving a cheating baker that happened “a long time ago.” This poor sap in a cage near the bridge pays homage to that tradition and also acts as the shingle hung out to advertize the entrance to Pr'Skelet, a basement pub with a serious skeleton fetish on the alleyway of Ključavničar just off the Cankarjevo nabrežje riverwalk.
