Slovenia

Market Scenes, Ljubljana, Slovenia
Starting in the 18th century, naive peasant artists began painting country scenes and allegorical cartoons on the panels that served as doors on Slovenia's oversized beehives. Some 2,000 examples of 600 different motifs have survived, and reproductions of them—like these, on sale in Lujljana's outdoor market (for much less than in the souvenir shops)— make nice, cheap souvenirs. Many feature a hunter getting his cumuppance at the hands of woodland animals—though given the hunter's outfit (a natty green suit with a green hat), which pegs him as a rich dandy of the times, these are probably a subtle metaphor letting the poor peasants (the strong bear, clever fox, and quick rabbit) finally get a win over their wealthy landlords. As a freelancer, I could relate, and bought one for myself.
