Book ahead for one of the few tables set picturesquely under grape vines in the tiny Arab courtyard—although in the summer heat, you may welcome the long rooms of the air-conditioned interior.

The waiters wear red neck bandannas and sashes like ersatz pirates and serve up casarecci all'arrabbiata or agli antichi sapori (homemade pasta with baby shrimp, limoncello liqueur, and mushrooms), or pasta con sarde (with sardines, raisins, pinoli, fennel, and tomatoes).

Fresh fish is always available, or sample their escalope alle mandorle (veal scallop flavored with almonds), couscous di pesce, or fileto bisanzio (beef under a rich gravy studded with peppers and mushrooms).
