Buses from the Verona train station to the city center

To get downtown from the train station, walk straight out to the bus island parallel to the station to catch grab bus no. 11, 12, or 13 (tickets on sale at the newsstand in the station or the AMT booth on marciapiede a). Get off at Piazza Bra or at Stradone San Fermo, just down Via Cappello from the central bustling marketplace on Piazza delle Erbe.

Alternatively, to get to the western side of the city center (near Castelvecchio), grab any of buses 21, 22, 23, 24, 41, 42, 61 and get off anywhere along Corso Cavour (or, closest to Piazza delle Erbe and the city cetner, at Via Diaz 9 just after the bus turns left off Corso Cavour but before it croses the river).

How long does Verona take?

Planning your day: You could knock off the major sights (plus lunch) in six hours or so, and thus visit Verona as a day trip from Venice (or en route to or from Venice, as Verona is one a main rail line).

However, Verona truly deserves an overnight of its own. Its sights are a bit spread out around town, so it sakes a little while to see them all, plus it is simply a lovely place to spend the evening, with the liveliest shopping, restaurant, and nightlife scene of any town in the Veneto region, along with some great hotels.
