Taking the train to Amsterdam

Arriving in Amsterdam by train at the Centraal Station

Central Station in AmsterdamTrains arrive in Amsterdam at Centraal Station, built on an artificial island in the Ij River bounding the city's north edge. Amsterdam's spiderweb of canals and streets radiates out from this point.

The square in front of the train station—Stationsplein—has the city's main tourist office and tram terminal.

Regular trains connect this station with ultra-modern Schiphol Airport in about 20 minutes.
